Artist's Comments

This is another IF ONLY character: Kazuma Hagayashi, The God of Shapeshifting. Eldest brother of both Frost and Zimmie Hagayashi.

He's changed a bit since his visit in Metula. Much much darker, and not to mention hotter.

I tried the same thing here that I did with Jynx, just not as much stray hairs. And it was done in Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and not Corel Painter 2. EDIT: I'm starting to think I made his skin too yellow. Oh well, something I can fix in the final. Also, the pic will be a lot bigger. I just had to crop it because there was a bunch of white nothingness.

This is a rough draft until i got his outfit down. This shall be scrapped after that.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

As for making your characters look older, I think I may be able to give you a few pointers:

1.) When I draw my characters at full height, I make them 7-8 heads high, but that depends on how old your character is, and what size you want them to be and such.

2.) By "heads high" I mean how large your character's head is. For example, making their head smaller, makes them look larger. For younger characters, make their heads larger.

3.) I usually make their eyes smaller, noses pointier, mouth larger, and the body more developed overall.

For more tips, I suggest the Anartic Press's version of "You Can: Learn How To Draw Manga" or "How to Draw Manga: Vol 1-Compiling Characters" the anatomy one is also great. Those are what I've studied from over the years. I hope I've helped you a bit, if not I appoligize. Good luck on the artwork anyway! ^^

All I can say, is follow the flow of the hair. I also suggest looking up some tutorials for coloring hair on deviantart, some of them are really helpful. I also might do one of my own later on once I get a handle of this technique. Anyway, thanks for the comment ^^.

Thanks! I also heard it was a good idea to make the charachter's head taller and thinner. Do you know what the propotions should be for this? Sorry to bug you, but judging from that pic, you really know what you're doing!

you're welcome and thank you for the useful information :aww: i appreciate it

Yep, I usually like looking at other people's artwork to try out new things.

Proportions? I would guess that he would be like 8 or 8 1/2 heads high O_o maybe 9. Considering he's a God in all, he's pretty tall.

Thanks ^^ I'm going to college next year to do Media Arts & Animation and hopefully get my co-creator story published soon.
